Recent Highlights

Well it's been awhile since my last update, let's see, what's happened... My cousin Joanna came to visit with her husband Eugene, which was a blast. We all went together with Amie to the DMZ and saw a couple of North Korean soldiers checking us out through binoculars! Quite a bizarre carnival-like atmosphere up there - it was like the front line of a war had been turned into a tourist attraction and vehicle for propaganda by both sides. We went, we saw, and we bought the t-shirt. Or three.

We also went to the Mud Festival, reportedly the biggest festival in the country. We rolled around in the mud a bunch and were put through various mud-related drills by a comical mud sergeant, and then we went and relaxed on the beach. Lots of fun...

And now Amie and I are taking our summer vacation in Bali, Indonesia! Ten days in this beautiful place, and then it's back to the grind for a few more months in Korea. I'll post photos later when I have a better connection... Hope you're all doing well!
